The New View of the Universe

by Marek Demianski, visiting professor in Astronomy

How did the Universe came into existence? What happened just after the Big Bang? What are the main constituents of the Universe? How was the presently observed large scale distribution of matter formed? In my talk, I will try to answer these and other intriguing questions connected with the origin and early evolution of the Universe. I will present the most important results of the recently completed mission of the European Space Agency’s Planck satellite and discuss their cosmological and physical implications.
